How is Welded Elbow made

The raw materials for Welded Elbow are welded steel pipe and iron plates. It is additionally used hot push technology to produce elbows with welded steel pipe.Normally, elbow diameter below DN600 is made by steel pipe.Diameter over DN600 needs plate production. The producing processes initial bending the plate, then welded into circular, sq. and alternative shapes. Welded steel elbow has the characteristics of high production potency, low value and saving material.

Manufacturing Process of Welded Elbow

Welded Elbows are made up of the steel plates, therefore there’s a weld seam on it. Use a mould and press the steel plate to the form of the elbow, then weld the seam to be a end steel elbow. it’s the previous production technique of the elbows. Recent years the little sizes elbows are virtually manufactured from the steel pipes currently. For the large size elbows, for example, it’s very tough to produce elbows over 36” OD from the steel pipes . therefore it’s normally made from the steel plates, pressing the plate to the shape of half elbow, and welding the 2 halves along. Since the elbows are welded in its body , the inspection of the attachment joint is important.

Advantages of ANSI/ASME B16.9 Welded Elbow

  • When stamping, the dimensions and shape accuracy of the stamping part are warranted, and also the surface quality of the stamping part is mostly not broken, and also the life of the mold is mostly long, therefore the quality of the stamping is stable, the changeability is sweet, and it’s “the same” feature.
  • No would like for tube blanks as raw materials, which may save the cost of pipe creating instrumentation and molds, and may get push elbows with any massive diameter and comparatively thin wall thickness. the material of the stamping elbow is special, and it’s not necessary to add the material of the tube blank, and it’s simple to regulate throughout process.
  • The billet for process stamping elbow is flat or expandable surface, therefore the material is straightforward to chop, the precision is simple to guarantee, the assembly and welding are convenient, the raw materials are simple to regulate throughout process, the operation is comparatively simple, there’s no sophisticated method, and also the fastening and assembly are convenient.
  • The stamping method of welding elbow has high production potency, simple operation and simple mechanization and automation. this can be as a result of stamping depends on die and stamping equipment to finish the process. the amount of strokes of standard press is up to many per minute. Ten times, high-speed pressure will reach a whole bunch or maybe thousands of times per minute, and every stamping stroke might lead to a stamping.
  • Stamping typically has no chip scraps, less material consumption, and no would like for different heating instrumentation. Therefore, it’s a material-saving and energy-saving process technique, and also the price of stamping components is low.
  • Stamping will method components with large size vary and sophisticated form, like stopwatches with little clocks, large automotive longitudinal beams, covering components, etc., and cold deformation hardening impact of materials throughout stamping, strength and rigidity of stamping. each are higher.
